What CleanTab is, who it is for, and why your records never leave your own Google Drive.
What is CleanTab?
CleanTab reads your receipts, tracks your Indian freelancer taxes to the rupee, and hands your CA one tidy Google Drive folder, with no CleanTab database behind it. Snap a bill and the amount, merchant, category and GST are filled in for you; a real Indian tax engine computes what to set aside; and at year end one share gives your chartered accountant everything.
Who is CleanTab for?
Indian freelancers and consultants who bill clients under their own name, sole proprietors running a registered business, and small companies with compliance dates to hit. The tax engine speaks their language: section 44ADA and 44AD presumptive taxation, TDS netting, advance-tax instalments, GST input credit.
Where does my data live?
In your own Google Drive, as ordinary photos and CSV files, in a folder CleanTab creates and cannot see beyond, using Google's drive.file permission. There is no CleanTab database, and the app itself carries no analytics and no trackers. Delete the folder and it is gone; delete the app and your records keep working without it.
