Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of CleanTab. By signing in and using the app, you agree to them. They are written to be readable, not to trip you up.

What CleanTab is

CleanTab is a tool that helps you capture receipts and income entries and file them into your own Google Drive. It can read details off a receipt for you, import a bank statement, estimate how much tax to set aside, and package your year for your accountant. It is a record-keeping helper, not an accountant. It does not file your taxes or give financial advice.

Your account and plans

You sign in with your Google account; there is no separate CleanTab password. Every new account starts with a free 14-day trial of the Pro plan. When the trial ends, your account moves to the Free plan automatically and nothing is charged. Pro costs ₹2,399 a year, billed annually, or ₹299 per month (prices include GST and may change with clear notice). Nothing you recorded is ever deleted when a trial or subscription ends: your records stay in your own Google Drive either way.

Billing, cancellation and refunds

Payments are processed by Razorpay as an auto-renewing subscription; CleanTab never sees or stores your card or UPI details. If you subscribe while your free trial is still running, the first charge waits until the trial ends, and cancelling before that first charge simply returns you to the trial. You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. A Pro membership can also be paused for up to 30 days in a rolling year: access drops to Free while paused, the unused paid days are banked, and access resumes automatically. Promotional vouchers, when issued, add Pro days on top of whatever you already hold and never shorten paid access. Receipt reading

When CleanTab reads a receipt, the extracted amount, merchant, category and GST are suggestions. Reading can be wrong, especially on faded or handwritten bills, which is why nothing is saved until you confirm it. You are responsible for checking each entry against the actual receipt before saving.

Tax estimates

Everything CleanTab tells you about tax, whether the simple set-aside percentage or the smart estimate (regimes, presumptive schemes under sections 44ADA and 44AD (merged into section 58 from 1 April 2026), salary stacking for salaried users with side income, old-regime deductions, surcharge, advance-tax instalments, and flat corporate rates for companies and LLPs), is a planning aid computed from the numbers you entered, using published rates for the financial year in question. It does not account for your full personal situation or eligibility rules. Confirm amounts, eligibility and filings with a qualified accountant. CleanTab is not a substitute for professional advice.

Details you enter

You may enter details such as your PAN, business name, salary, and a registered business's GSTIN, TAN or CIN so the estimate is accurate and your CA pack names the right taxpayer. These stay in your own Google Drive, not on our servers. You are responsible for their accuracy and for entering only details that are yours or that you are authorised to use. CleanTab checks a PAN's format but does not verify it against any government record.

Notifications

If you turn on push notifications, CleanTab may send reminders about tax dates, your trial or subscription, and keeping your books current. They are a convenience, delivered on a best-effort basis through your browser and its push service, and are not a guarantee that any deadline will be met. You can turn them off at any time. Missing a notification does not change any tax obligation or deadline that applies to you.

Your responsibilities

• Keep your Google account secure. Access to CleanTab is access to your CleanTab folder.
• Check your own numbers, both what the reader extracts and what the tax estimate suggests.
• Enter only details that are yours or that you are authorised to use, and keep them accurate.
• Use the app lawfully and for your own records.

Availability

CleanTab is in active development. We aim for it to be reliable, but we cannot promise it will be available without interruption or free of bugs. Your data is safe because it lives in your Drive, not with us.

Liability

To the extent allowed by law, CleanTab is not liable for losses arising from use of the app, including tax outcomes, missed deductions, incorrect extractions you saved without checking, or data you delete from your own Drive. You are responsible for your records and your filings.

Changes

These terms may change as the app grows. Price changes will be announced clearly before they affect you, and never mid-way through a period you have already paid for. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
