How does the free trial work?

Sign in with Google and you get 14 days of everything Pro, no card and no password. When it ends, your account moves to the Free plan: 50 manual entries a month, 20 receipt scans a month and one CA export a year. Nothing is deleted and nothing is charged.

Does CleanTab see my whole Google Drive?

Accepted Answer

No. Google only lets CleanTab open the one folder it creates for your records. Your other files, photos and emails stay out of reach, and that is enforced by Google itself, not just promised by us.

What happens to the receipt photo when it gets read?

Google's AI looks at the photo once, right when you snap it, to fill in the amount and merchant for you. The photo itself is saved only in your own Drive, nowhere else. Prefer to type the amount in yourself? That works too.

What is 44ADA, in one paragraph?

A government scheme for professionals earning up to 75 lakh a year: half of what you earn is treated as profit, you skip expense bookkeeping for tax, and advance tax is one payment in March. CleanTab does the maths for you; your CA confirms you qualify.

The Free plan costs nothing, forever. Pro is ₹2,399 a year (under ₹200 a month), or ₹299 month to month, after a free 14-day trial. There are no ads, nothing tracked inside the app, and no database of your finances to sell: your records live in your own Drive, and the only thing CleanTab stores is your email and plan status.

Does it work offline and on iPhone?

Yes. Capture works with no signal and syncs when you're back. On iPhone, open the app in Safari and use Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android it installs in one tap.

Can it handle GST?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on Pro (the 14-day trial includes it). Switch GST on and CleanTab reads the GST amount off receipts too, and totals it up as input credit on the CA pack. On the Free plan the GST surfaces are locked, but anything already recorded stays safe in your own Drive and reappears when you upgrade.

I run a sole proprietorship, not freelancing. Does the tax maths fit?

Yes. Pick sole proprietor when you first sign in and the maths switches to the scheme for businesses: 6% of your digital sales counts as profit, for turnover up to 3 crore. Mostly cash sales? Ask your CA about the 8% rate; CleanTab flags the assumption wherever it applies.

I have a salary and freelance work on the side. Does the maths fit?

Yes. Pick salaried with side income and CleanTab stacks the side income on top of your salary, so it is taxed at your real slab rate instead of from zero. The freelance side still files under 44ADA presumptive, your salary TDS is netted off alongside what clients deduct, and the standard four advance-tax dates apply.

We're a company or LLP. What does CleanTab do for us?

Companies get a compliance calendar instead of a slab estimate: TDS deposit on the 7th, GSTR-1 on the 11th, GSTR-3B on the 20th and quarterly advance tax, with a one-tap calendar download and monthly CA packs. CleanTab organises; your CA files.

How do payments work when I upgrade to Pro?

Checkout runs through Razorpay with UPI, cards and netbanking. CleanTab never sees or stores your payment details. And if you never upgrade, your trial simply moves to the Free plan and nothing is ever charged.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Cancel any time; you keep Pro until the end of what you've paid for, then move to Free. Yearly plans have a 7-day no-questions refund window, and duplicate or incorrect charges are always refunded. The full policy is on the refunds page.
